Social Impact ,further investment grows.

Hi everyone,

The social impact funds are beginning to attract large amounts of investment from institutions and private finance.
Without this type of finance social impact would crawl.Although it is a fairly new type of finance it is attracting serious interest.
I do expect this to now start it to move forward fast.It is necessary that serious money comes forward to be involved in social impact projects that will benefit society in general.
I do however think that more needs to be done to inform society that this is developing and growing so that social impact is  not kept hidden and small.
The latest investor is Axa Group the insurance company although Goldman Sachs is developing a large investment side in social impact funds.
The projects that are available for social impact investing is getting bigger by the day but a return is required on the investment both in social returns and financial returns. And the two returns have to be balanced.

New year new direction.

Hi everyone I hope you are all well at the start of 2014.

The world is in flux and changing fast.  Destabilisation  in parts of the world lets hope settles down soon.

In the developed world attitudes are changing fast now and social impact decisions make are being considered at all levels in more and more companies.

Social impact really is only new in the fact it is in the open forum now. There are some of us that have considered what effect our decisions make for a long time.

It is now entering main stream and anyone who does not have this consideration in their commercial  or main decisions will find many problems ahead as society now requires this thought pattern.

Social impact has to considered in near term as well as long term decisions so that successful companies survive and prosper.

There is a growing acceptance within the public arena that decisions which disregard local and national opinions will not be put up with.

Changes are ahead as more of the younger generation take an interest in what goes on in their local area. This will result in the cosy attitude that is operated by some to  start to disappear. This can only be good for the U.K.

Well keep well and invest in life.It can only make it better.

Decisions of the future.

Hello everyone I hope all is well with you.

Decisions of the future. What does that mean for everyone?

There is in the U.K. a growing belief that decisions made that are of a major importance both in commerce and public life should at long last consider the social impact it will have on those it affects.

Although there have been decision makers in the past who have incorporated these effects into their decisions not many have.

The inclusion of social impact will now become mainstream in the next 10 to 15 years.Any corporation that does not will suffer the results of not doing so  affecting the validity of the company in the eyes of both its customers and investors.

Within public administration this is more important as it deals directly with the public of the U.K. and therefore is perceived in a different way.

Public administration is regarded as an extension of society and therefore is scrutinised more.

The younger generation has social justice in its sights and will not put up with that which the older generation has had to.This will inevitably attract those from the older generation that have always believed in social justice.

Public administration need to start to adjust to a new way of reactions of society.Society wants to know more.It wants clarity and it also wants the impact decisions made, to benefit all not just a few .

Anyone in the public arena cannot now sit and hope things will just go along. They must react more with society and justify decisions made which both affect people locally and major costly projects.

Just issuing surveys on a regular basis will no longer be enough.People that are interested in a project have more information available and are willing to justify their involvement.

We are now moving into a period where those that adapt to society will survive. Those that do not will wither and retire .Companies take note.

Local authorities in the U.K. are the ones that are most susceptible to change  and need to adapt quickly.Decisions they make can no longer be just the will of a few prominent people with power.Local people require their input to be included.Surveys being only part of it.

And as a lot are discovering, how you ask a question brings a different result.Manipulation will be picked upon.

We are in a time of change and discovery in local requirements . Not all at the top will survive the next 10 years.

Happy and successful investing in all that you do.

Christopher.
